LAMINATION WITH CONTOUR CUTTING
IDF LAMINATION
The IDF process is a lamination process which utilises contour cutting. Generally, it is used for fabric and foil variants as well as 2D-like textile coverings. For 3D pre-cut blanks in upper door and armrest areas, we have developed a special technology which enables IDF lamination of 3D textile coverings: By using pre-fixation auxiliary supports with swivelling seam blades, the textile coverings are positively pre-positioned and then negatively transferred to the lower tool.
